Domestic AI Compute Chips See Orders Explode
According to CCTV Finance, as of June this year, China’s daily token call volume has exceeded 500 trillion. Chinese large language models are now firmly in the global first tier, with token call volumes growing at a rapid clip. The intense competition in LLMs and the real-world deployment of AI applications are directly fueling a surge in compute demand. Right now, global intelligent computing resources are already getting tight, and multiple regions across China are speeding up the construction of domestic token factories and intelligent computing complexes, pushing the domestic AI chip supply chain from “product validation” to “batch delivery.”
In Guangzhou’s Huangpu Comprehensive Bonded Zone, a major intelligent computing complex with a total investment of 950 million yuan was recently approved. Once completed, it will serve AI companies in areas like text-to-video generation and code writing, while also helping drive Chinese token technology overseas.
Liu Miao, founder of Guangzhou Turing New Intelligent Computing, noted that demand could be more than ten times the current supply, and this year, companies are firmly pivoting toward domestic ecosystems and systems.
Zhang Chen, deputy general manager of the market development division at China Power Engineering Consulting Group, added that domestic chips are already seeing order backlogs that could stretch a full year out.
