Elon Musk Enters the AI Programming Arena

On May 10, it was reported that xAI, now rebranded as SpaceXAI, is set to launch a desktop programming application called Grok Build. Today, a “Grok Computer” button briefly appeared on the Grok website, revealing the existence of this new application. Musk previously stated that he would release a new large model in June, which would surpass the current leader, Calude, in programming capabilities.

Google DeepMind Hires University of Chicago Professor as AGI Economics Director

Recently, University of Chicago professor Alex Imas joined Google DeepMind as the Director of AGI Economics. DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis confirmed this major personnel move on social media.

Imas was originally an economist at the University of Chicago, where he researched behavioral economics and the impact of AI on the labor market. He had previously expressed concerns about AI causing job losses and demand collapse, but now offers a cautiously optimistic assessment, suggesting that AI will lower the cost of replicable labor while increasing the value of relational labor in fields like healthcare, education, and services.

Zeroth元点 M1 Humanoid Robot Integrates with OpenClaw, Set to Launch in Late May

On May 9, it was announced that the M1 humanoid robot developed by Zeroth元点, a subsidiary of 乐享科技, has become the first mass-produced humanoid robot to integrate with Tencent’s OpenClaw (小龙虾) platform. Users can control the robot remotely through QQ, sending commands to the “dragon shrimp agent” to perform tasks like walking, turning, and following the owner. Developers can also use this integration to create applications like reminders and home care services.

Currently, 乐享科技 has reached an agreement with Tencent to integrate one million hardware terminals, and the M1 robot has successfully integrated with OpenClaw and is undergoing internal testing. It is expected to launch in late May and start pre-sales in the first half of the year.

Baidu Officially Releases Wenxin Large Model 5.1

On May 9, Baidu officially released Wenxin Large Model 5.1, which adopts “multi-dimensional elastic pre-training” technology. The model is now available on the Baidu Qianfan Model Plaza and Wenxin Yiyan website, and is open to enterprise users and developers for testing.
