Xiaomi 18 Fold Confirmed for September Launch, Debuting with In-House Xuanjie O3 Chip

On August 24, at Xiaomi’s Xuanjie chip technology conference, the company unveiled its new product roadmap, confirming that the Xiaomi 18 Fold—the top-tier foldable flagship in the series—will be the first to feature the Xuanjie O3 chip. The device is slated for an official September release, with the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max also joining the lineup powered by the same chip.

That same day, Xiaomi introduced the Xuanjie O100, a dedicated AI accelerator chip for large models. Built on a 6nm 3D wafer-level stacking approach, it delivers an impressive 1.22TB/s bandwidth. Architecturally, the O100 adopts a near-memory AI computing design paired with Xuanjie’s high-bandwidth matrix bus, enabling multi-core parallel processing. Running Xiaomi’s MiMo 3B model, it hits a blazing 330 tokens per second inference speed.

CXMT Partners with Xiaomi as Core LPDDR6 Memory Supplier for Xuanjie O3

On August 24, Xiaomi officially unveiled the Xuanjie O3 chip. This next-gen processor marks a world first as the flagship mobile SoC to support LPDDR6 memory. According to reports from Cailianshe, domestic memory giant ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) serves as the core LPDDR6 partner for the Xuanjie O3. Back in March, word surfaced that CXMT had already sent LPDDR6 samples to key clients, and by early August, multiple outlets noted the validation phase was nearly wrapped. With this chip’s debut, it’s the first time a domestic LPDDR6 product has landed in a flagship processor—a milestone that firmly catapults China-made low-power memory into the global first tier.

Cai Chongxin and Wu Yongming Step Up with HK$120 Million Alibaba Share Purchase

August 24 news—according to the latest Hong Kong Stock Exchange filings, following Alibaba’s announcement of an HK$80 billion new share placement plan, Group Chairman Cai Chongxin and CEO Wu Yongming moved to increase their stakes, collectively buying roughly HK$120 million worth of Alibaba shares.

Combined, the two added 1.07 million shares, with a total outlay of approximately HK$120 million.

A day earlier, Alibaba unveiled the HK$80 billion share placement, with proceeds earmarked entirely for full-stack AI capabilities and AI infrastructure buildout. Zhongji Innolight: Aggressive Capacity Expansion Across the Board This Year

Zhongji Innolight said during an August 23 institutional call that capacity expansion has been robust across the board this year, with capital expenditures expected to stay elevated in the second half—driven by high order visibility and surging demand. The company’s Hong Kong listing earlier this year was a forward-looking move, anticipating continued strong demand from downstream customers, necessitating hefty capex investment. The July HK listing raised $7 billion, providing solid backing for expansion and inventory buildup while making future fundraising smoother—a boon for business growth. Management expects capex to keep climbing in H2, with infrastructure spending rising and equipment purchases largely wrapped up by Q3. Overall, capital expenditure is projected to remain substantial from the latter half of this year through next.

Former OPPO Overseas Marketing Head Zhang Zhouchuan Joins DJI

On August 24, NUPIAO exclusively learned that Zhang Zhouchuan, formerly OPPO’s president of overseas marketing and sales services, has joined DJI. NUPIAO reached out to DJI for comment on this development, but as of press time, the company had not yet responded.

An insider told NUPIAO that Zhang’s new role falls under a B2B-focused business unit, which differs significantly from his previous experience, adding that it’s possible this is just a transitional arrangement.

According to Leiphone reports, Zhang spent years overseeing OPPO’s overseas sales and service operations, making him one of the core executives driving OPPO’s global expansion. In October last year, OPPO’s Chief Product Officer Liu Zuohu took over direct management of overseas regional markets, prompting Zhang to return to China, where he took charge of the A-series product line, reporting to Yin Wenguang (Garvin). By May 2026, Zhang had completed his handover internally and retired from the company.

Some media reports have suggested that Tuozhu Technology is planning to kick off its IPO process in 2027. If that timeline had held, Tuozhu would have become the third major Maker-focused company to openly pursue the capital markets since 2026.

On August 24, according to 21st Century Business Herald, the company responded: “The reports are inaccurate, and we appreciate the attention.”
