On February 2, Tencent officially announced that QQ Classic Farm will make a comeback on February 6, simultaneously launching on QQ and WeChat. According to the official pre-heating information, this time around, QQ Classic Farm will offer a mobile game version.

QQ Farm is a simulation game developed by Tencent, released in May 2009. Players take on the role of a farm owner, planting crops, raising animals, and managing farm products. This game once set a record of 120 million online users in 2010, with over 300 million monthly active users. The phrase “Have you stolen vegetables tonight?” became a daily greeting among post-80s and post-90s generations.

In the domestic network game approval information released in December 2025, the mobile version of Tencent’s QQ Farm obtained a license. From January 27 to February 2, 2026, QQ Classic Farm opened its deletion test, and this comeback version is considered by netizens to be an authentic and nostalgic revival.

On January 26, Tencent held its 2025 annual employee conference. In the PCG (Platform and Content Business Group) segment, Tencent’s Chairman and CEO, Pony Ma, shared a story about how to use AI to make “old trees sprout new buds.”

He specifically mentioned that QQ is more focused on listening to user feedback, which led to the return of popular old products like QQ Show and QQ Farm. The returned QQ Show has been connected to AI capabilities, allowing users to upload materials and generate images.

On January 24, QQ officially announced the return of QQ Show, which can be used by searching for “QQ Show” on mobile QQ. This update coincides with the 23rd anniversary of QQ Show, which was launched on January 24, 2003. This update includes multiple features, such as creating exclusive images through AI-driven generation, turning QQ avatars into dynamic QQ Show characters, and QQ Show’s first entry into group chats and friend interactions.

Market analysis shows that the nostalgia economy continues to heat up, with “grandpa’s comeback” becoming an emotional resonance point for Generation Z and millennials. According to TrendForce data, in 2025, the average daily launch frequency of global casual mobile games reached 3.7 times, and lightweight, low-pressure social leisure games are regaining market popularity.
