September 1st — NUPIAO has learned from multiple retail locations in Shanghai that OPPO will be raising prices on several models this month. The affected devices include the OPPO Reno16 series and the OnePlus Turbo 6X Pro series, with price increases ranging from 300 to 500 yuan. Some stores have already swapped out the price tags for the OPPO Reno16, and interestingly, the model name has also been tweaked to “OPPO Reno16t.”

A sales associate at an OPPO store in Xuhui District, Shanghai, told NUPIAO that the company notified staff of the price adjustment early in the morning. They’ve already put up the new price tags ahead of time, just waiting for the official announcement to drop — which is tentatively set for September 7th.

Another store salesperson mentioned that the OPPO Reno16 (12GB+256GB) is still starting at 3,499 yuan. In Shanghai, buyers can currently take advantage of a 500-yuan national subsidy plus a 300-yuan manufacturer rebate. The rebranded device won’t see any major spec changes, either.

Rising storage chip costs have been putting pressure on phone makers all year, prompting multiple rounds of price adjustments. Back in March, OPPO became the first brand to publicly announce a price hike, bumping up prices across its A-series, K-series, and select OnePlus models.

In June, Apple raised prices globally on its entire Mac and iPad hardware lineup. Then on July 18th, Apple hiked prices in Japan across iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods models — the top-tier iPhone 17 Pro Max storage option jumped from 329,800 yen to 354,800 yen, an increase of 25,000 yen.

On September 1st, several major phone brands including Huawei, Xiaomi, and Honor also raised product prices, with bumps ranging from 200 to 1,000 yuan. Multiple industry insiders pointed out to NUPIAO that this round of price increases is becoming a widespread industry trend.

As of press time, OPPO had not yet responded to NUPIAO’s inquiry regarding the store-level price adjustments.
