On April 23, Xishanju, a veteran game developer, released a statement on its official Weibo account, denying rumors about its dissolution or sale.
The statement claimed that recent maliciously fabricated screenshots had appeared on the internet, which were completely false and contained obvious errors.
Xishanju emphasized that it was operating normally and that its research and development plans were proceeding as scheduled.
The company also stated that it would take legal action against those responsible for spreading the rumors.
According to Tianyancha, a business information platform, Xishanju was founded in 2016 and has a registered capital of 150 million yuan.
Notably, Xishanju underwent a high-level personnel adjustment last year.
On December 1, Xishanju announced that its CEO, Guo Weiwei, had resigned due to personal career plans.
Guo Weiwei had been CEO for 7 years and 10 months and was responsible for the success of Xishanju’s popular game, “Jianwang 3”.
Under his leadership, the game maintained a large user base and stable revenue.
However, Xishanju’s other game, “Dust White Forbidden Zone”, initially received negative reviews but later gained popularity and became a major revenue contributor.
Unfortunately, Xishanju’s sci-fi game, “Limitless Machine”, performed poorly despite its high production costs.
Industry insiders analyzed that the personnel adjustment might be related to Xishanju’s parent company, Jinshan Software’s, poor financial performance in the third quarter of 2025.
According to the financial report, Jinshan Software’s network game and other business revenue decreased by 47% year-on-year to 8.98 billion yuan, accounting for 37% of the company’s total revenue.
The company’s CEO, Zou Tao, attributed the decline in revenue to the decrease in contributions from existing games and the slow development of new games.
This means that the company’s poor performance was largely due to the decline in revenue from “Jianwang 3” and the disappointing performance of new games such as “Dust White Forbidden Zone” and “Limitless Machine”.
These games were the core products that Xishanju had hoped would drive its growth during Guo Weiwei’s tenure as CEO.
According to Jinshan Software’s financial report, the company’s revenue for 2025 was 96.83 billion yuan, a decrease of 6% year-on-year.
The company’s net profit was 20.04 billion yuan, an increase of 29% year-on-year.
Among them, the revenue from office software and services was 59.29 billion yuan, an increase of 16% year-on-year.
The revenue from network games and other businesses was 37.54 billion yuan, a decrease of 28% year-on-year.
Games accounted for approximately 38% of the company’s total revenue.
