In response, an OpenAI spokesperson called the incident absolutely heartbreaking and mentioned they’re stepping up their game when it comes to handling sensitive situations. Meanwhile, the plaintiff’s lawyer pointed out that OpenAI is currently dealing with several similar lawsuits, all filed by families of individuals who died by or attempted suicide.
