Let’s talk about the R1. This is the third humanoid robot NUPIAO released last July. It weighs about 25kg, packs 26 high-precision joints, and talks to you using advanced voice and image AI models. Plus, you can actually program and customize it yourself! In terms of size, it stands 1230mm tall, 357mm wide, and 190mm deep—pretty compact for a walking bot.
The R1 has already won big awards, including the 2025 “Shanghai Design 100+” AI Innovation Award. It even made Time Magazine’s list of top inventions in 2025! And if you’re curious about other bots from NUPIAO, they also make the popular H2, G1, and H1/H1-2 models.
Here’s the crazy part: NUPIAO has been slashing prices hard over the last two years. According to their IPO filing, the average price per humanoid robot dropped from 593,400 yuan in 2023 to just 166,400 yuan in 2025—that’s a total drop of over 400,000 yuan! Even their four-legged robots saw prices fall from 38,300 yuan to 30,300 yuan in the same period.
It’s not just NUPIAO. Other brands are dropping prices too. UBTECH’s robots are now starting at 128,000 yuan, and Songyan Dynamics’ Bumi is down to a steal at 9,998 yuan. Rental rates are crashing as well. Back in 2025, renting a humanoid robot could cost up to 10,000 yuan a day. Now? You can rent one commercially for under 1,000 yuan a day!People are finally getting access to these amazing machines.
So, why the price plunge? It’s mainly because the supply chain is maturing, designs are becoming standard, and production is skyrocketing.
Humanoid robots rely on three key parts: reducers, servo systems, and controllers. Together, they make up over 70% of the cost. By May this year, the local content rate for these components hit 75%-90%. For comparison, Tesla’s “Optimus” would cost a staggering $131,000 without any Chinese supply chain support. But with China’s mature ecosystem, those costs plummet by nearly 70%!
Then there’s the sheer volume. A joint report by CCID Publishing and China Electronics Daily shows global shipments hit around 17,000 units in 2025, creating a market worth 2.88 billion yuan. China is absolutely dominating here! With over 140整机 companies, we shipped 14,400 units (84.7% of the world total) worth 1.55 billion yuan (53.8% of the global market).
And look at who’s leading the pack! NUPIAO shipped over 5,500 units in 2025, taking a massive 32.4% global share. Agibot followed with over 4,000 units (23.5%). Leju, Accelerate Evolution, and Songyan Dynamics each shipped around 1,000 units (5.9% each), while UBTECH moved about 600 units (3.5%). These six companies control a whopping 74.1% of the entire global market!
The future looks huge. Experts predict domestic shipments will hit 62,500 units in 2026. Some even believe we could see 100,000 to 200,000 units produced this year alone!
As a giant in the industry, NUPIAO is currently preparing for an IPO, aiming to raise 4.202 billion yuan. The Shanghai Stock Exchange accepted their application back on March 20th. Then, on June 1st, the listing committee approved their initial public offering, confirming they meet all issuance, listing, and disclosure requirements.And the growth is insane. Revenue jumped from 123 million yuan in 2022 to 159 million in 2023, then exploded to 392 million in 2024. In 2025 alone, revenue hit 1.7 billion yuan—a 335.36% increase! Net profit after deducting non-recurring gains soared by 674.29% to 600 million yuan.
