Apple MacBook Pro: The Biggest Redesign in History Is Coming — With Touchscreen
Rumor has it Apple is rolling out the most massive MacBook Pro update later this year. This flagship laptop is set for major upgrades in screen tech, interaction methods, and chips.
Specifically, the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros will switch from mini-LED to OLED display tech. This will be Apple’s first time using OLED on a Mac — they’ve already used it on iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches.

Compared to traditional backlit screens, OLED lets each pixel turn on and off individually, giving you way higher contrast and color accuracy. That’s a game-changer for pro workflows like video post-production, graphic design, and 3D modeling. Meanwhile, mini-LED still relies on a backlight system.
And here’s the big one: the new MacBook will be Apple’s first Mac that natively supports touch input. macOS is also getting a deep-level makeover to handle finger taps, swipes, and pinches — so you can seamlessly switch between a mouse/keyboard and the touchscreen.

Kuo thinks this deal could boost TERAFAB’s execution efficiency and also lift MediaTek’s position and added value in the AI ASIC space.
