Recently, Zhang Kaiyang, better known as “Crazy Big Brother Yang” and the founder of the Three Sheep Group, made a surprising appearance in videos for the “Three Sheep Big Classroom” account. Instead of his usual high-energy live streaming, he was seen holding a microphone, pitching live e-commerce courses. Naturally, this sparked a ton of attention online.
On June 28th, customer service representatives at Three Sheep Education told Rising Star Capital Bureau that Big Brother Yang’s courses have already been taken offline, likely due to some internal adjustments. The rep also noted that Big Brother Yang rarely runs classes personally anymore; these days, he focuses more on content strategy and brand direction.
Based on earlier reports, the video of Big Brother Yang selling courses under “Three Sheep Big Classroom” was actually a segment from his sharing session in the “Beginner Douyin Entrepreneurship Transformation Camp.” The topics covered things like short video production and live e-commerce experience, with course titles such as “How to Get Traffic” and “Short Video Creation Needs Direction.” For now, the “Three Sheep Big Classroom” account has deleted all videos related to these course sales.
According to details we gathered, this training camp is an offline program lasting three days and two nights, priced at 1,980 yuan. It’s been held over 30 times so far, though Big Brother Yang doesn’t attend every single session. The instructor team consists of five people, including Du Gang, the CEO of the Three Sheep Group. Videos titled “Teacher Du Speaks” show Du Gang covering topics like “Is Live Streaming Already Obsolete?” and “Learn to Go With the Flow.”
Beyond that, “Three Sheep Big Classroom” also launched an “All-Rounder Beginner Class,” another offline course stretching over 28 days with a starting price of 19,980 yuan. They also offer a “5-Day 4-Night Operation Streamer Special Training Camp” for 4,980 yuan.
Data from the Tianyancha app reveals that “Three Sheep Big Classroom” is linked to Hefei Three Sheep Education Technology Co., Ltd., established in February 2023. The company has a registered capital of 1 million yuan, with Du Gang serving as the legal representative. It’s 100% owned by Three Sheep (Hefei) Holding Group Co., Ltd., ultimately controlled by Zhang Qingyang (Crazy Little Brother Yang), with both brothers listed as ultimate beneficiaries.
Two years ago, the infamous “Meicheng Mooncake” incident became a major turning point for the brothers’ live streaming careers. Just before the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2024, a livestream under the Three Sheep umbrella promoted “Hong Kong Meicheng” mooncakes, which were reportedly impossible to buy in Hong Kong. This led to accusations of misleading consumers and massive public backlash. On September 17, 2024, the Hefei High-tech Zone Market Regulation Bureau opened an investigation. By September 26, the Hefei Market Regulation Bureau announced that Three Sheep had engaged in false and misleading commercial promotion regarding the mooncakes. The penalty? Confiscation of illegal gains plus fines totaling over 68.9 million yuan, along with an order to suspend operations for rectification.
To date, neither brother has officially resumed regular live streaming, and their follower counts have dropped significantly. Crazy Little Brother Yang’s Douyin following has fallen below the 100 million mark; as of this writing, his account stands at roughly 95.6 million followers. Crazy Big Brother Yang sits at around 10.45 million. Interestingly, both of their last Douyin posts date back to August 2024.
On the evening of January 12th this year, the official Three Sheep Network Douyin account finally went live again, marking their first broadcast since the September 2024 suspension. The four-hour stream drew 420,000 viewers with a peak concurrent audience of 3,900, generating sales under 250,000 yuan. Compared to their old “screaming sales” style, the new broadcasts have adopted a much calmer, more composed tone.
Aside from the main official account, other accounts under the Three Sheep umbrella started resuming broadcasts starting in November 2025. For instance, their self-owned brand account, “Little Yang Selected,” returned to Douyin. In early January, core anchors like Zui Ge, Qiao Mei, Old K, and Zhuo Shilin also announced and began returning. However, without the personal pull of the “Big & Little Brothers,” the entire anchor matrix simply can’t match the traffic or conversion rates they enjoyed at their absolute peak.
In terms of the capital market, rumors surfaced in February claiming that “Three Sheep Successfully Shell Listed.” In response, Three Sheep (Hefei) Holding Group Co., Ltd. issued a statement clarifying that neither the group nor its subsidiaries have any plans for shell listings, overall IPOs, or direct share offerings. Reports suggesting a listing on Nasdaq or using a US shell company were merely misinterpretations of overseas live streaming operation partnerships.
