Anthropic Could Go Public in October, Potentially Dethroning the Record for the Largest IPO Ever
According to reports from CCTV Finance and the Financial Times, several of Anthropic’s investors have revealed the company is expected to hit the public market in October with a valuation of $2 trillion or even higher. If those projections hold up, that valuation would surpass SpaceX and mark the largest initial public offering in history. Investors point to red-hot market demand for AI models and tools as a key pillar propping up that massive valuation. They project Anthropic’s annualized revenue could reach between $100 billion and $120 billion by the end of 2026, which would represent more than a tenfold surge over the course of this year alone.
It’s been noted that Anthropic confidentially submitted its IPO paperwork to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission back in June and has since entered a quiet period. Because of that, the company is barred from publishing any public statements about its own financial performance. Since the start of this year, venture capital firms, sovereign wealth funds, and other investors have poured close to $100 billion into the company. Back in May, Anthropic’s valuation crossed $965 billion, overtaking OpenAI at the time.
